Late morning out at a random discovered spot on Georgian Bay – a kind of beach of shale, empty, open, so quiet.

The only evidence of the occasional human visitors a lone Inukshuk.
The mysterious stone figures known as inuksuit are monuments made of unworked stones that are used by the Inuit for communication and survival. The traditional meaning of the inukshuk is ‘Someone was here’ or ‘You are on the right path.’

Inukshuks always catch my eye, though I didn’t know the traditional meaning. “You are on the right path” … I like that!
I love this Kat. I have always been moved by how indigenous peoples have marked landmarks that have significant meaning or stories attached to them (place names). I do think you are on the right path and I’m glad you are sharing your journey through words and photographs.
Loving these images, so tranquil and beautiful. I’ve always liked this rock stacks but never knew what they were called or that they had a specific meaning. Thank you for sharing and teaching me something new. Keep on keeping on.
Thanks for stopping by, Angela
